What's the deal with all of my new websites?

As you have seen I have been pitching a lot of new sites and facebook pages over the last few days/weeks. Well, that is not going to stop anytime...

As you have seen I have been pitching a lot of new sites and facebook pages over the last few days/weeks. Well, that is not going to stop anytime soon so I thought I would share what is going on. I am spearheading a project that is focused on bringing Pennsylvania to the Web. Now sure there are millions of websites out there for PA and we are not really in some cases charting any new grounds, but the way we are going about it is pretty new. (I'll explain in a minute.)

We (and mostly I) am developing dozens of new websites & microsites for everything from local communities, wildlife, attractions to hobbies. Why, because it is kinda a hobby of mine and although I don't try to bring attention to myself I really enjoy the interactions with all the new people I meet. Once I started working on BrookvilleLife, which I started because of my genuine love for the area and desire to make it my full time home, I decided I wanted to keep going. This lead to PAElk.Com, which lead to the concept for AroundPA.Com and before I knew it we where knee deep in websites and only getting deeper.

The reason I keep mentioning these sites and pages is because of the method in which the sites are being built and launched. Instead of building sites with cookie cutter content generated by hired writers with no experience in the communities or areas the sites serve I chose to let the people in those areas drive the direction of the site. They dictate what they want to see and even in many cases supply the actual content and photos.

So when you see me post a link or recommend a site if it is something you have a passion for or interest in I would love for you to become a part of it or even join in and help chart the course for where the site goes. If you would like to get in touch with me about any of the projects even BrookvilleLife contact me through the forum or via email. My email is brookvillelife (at) gmail.com.

As far as what is happening with brookvillelife.com I will be making some huge improvements to the site based on what I have learned via these other projects and in the coming weeks, if all goes as planned, this site will be bigger and better than it ever has.

If you read all this God bless you!

Regards,

Joe

Living in the "country" has it's perks, that's for sure. With the recent deal of bad water in Brookville, I appreciated the well water we have. UNTIL...last night. While cleaning up after dinner and some canning, I ran out of water. This happens about once a year, and it never happens on a day that I don't have a million and one loads of laundry or dishes.

We've had to begin taking water from our slightly green pool. The summer is coming to an end, and we have a seasonal pool that we take down each year, so it's not really a burden to take water from one place and put it to good use in another place.

Oh well, the ups and downs of living in the country!

OK, I am totally sick of facebook again. I have erased all of my posts and pics and am deleting all non interesting friends and family. I think I am going to try something totally different this time. Since I am not having fun chatting with people I know or am related too because I already know more about them than I probably care too, I think I will try finding new 'friends' that I don't know so maybe I can actually meet some interesting folk.

What do you think about this idea?

I had a new 'script from my doctor for an antibotic. I took it to Giant Eagle along with a coupon in the weekly ads. "$20 gift card for a new 'scrpit". I walked in, figured I would pay my insurance co-pay, and get the gift card, as I've never filled anything there. As it turns out, my meds were not only FREE, but I got the card too!

As I did my shopping, which wasn't much, they filled it. The lady at the counter was SOOO nice. Very social and willing to help.

I checked out, with my $20 gift card in hand, purchased all the specials I wanted/needed, and managed to save (with my card, and the price difference with sales) nearly $75!

I stopped back into the store this evening, and I wasn't sure where an item was. My family, along with a manager and a grocery stocker were all looking for the item. Once it was found, the 2 employees *knew* there was a different (and likely cheaper) type of the same item. As they looked, we continued to shop. They were both VERY helpful! The manager showed us where the 2nd type of item was found, and then shared 2 different recipes with us, something tried and true from his family.

I'll continue to shop both grocery stores, as they now employ the same *type* of people...helpful, honest and hardworking. It will be beneficial for my family to shop both stores, and save using their sales.

Let's not forget...the fuel perks. Sure, as of this very minute, we don't have a Get-Go in town, but the word is, one is being brought into the area on the blvd soon.

I wanted to share my experiece of the newest store in town. Some are hesitant to go in to the store, as I was...however, my 2 trips have changed my outlook. Thanks Giant Eagle!
