My SUV got skunked!
Last night, a skunk wandered our way and decided to skunk our SUV while it was parked in the driveway! I have no idea why it did this, other than the fact that maybe it got mad because the SUV was in it's way. The house stunk bad last night after the "encounter" but we didn't realize until this morning that it had skunked the SUV! Whew! Has this ever happened to you? How do you get rid of the smell?!?

Re: My SUV got skunked!
I remember an episode of mythbusters where they tested various methods to remove skunk smell. They found that the old tomoto and citrus juice method is bogus.
Here is the secret recipe that WORKS. Mix the following:
1 quart 3 percent hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
1 teaspoon liquid soap or dish detergent
Mix these together and bathe ("shampoo" in or rub down) the area thoroughly.
Be sure to use this mixture immediately after it is created, as it is unstable.
Rinse with tap water afterward, and repeat if necessary.
